Dentsply Sirona’s Avagel Alginate is indicated for total or partial impressions of dentate and edentulous mouths, in the work of total or partial removable dentures, in the manufacture of study models for orthodontic work, it is also useful in impressions for the manufacture of single restorations and multiple, crowns and fixed bridges.

Type II and normal setting, it presents a color change (bichromatic) that occurs during setting and facilitates the work of the dental professional, in addition to presenting excellent elasticity and compatibility with plaster.

 

Spatulation Step by Step

It is recommended that you use a face mask, as it contains silica and inhaling the dry powder can be harmful to your health.

– For a hemiarch impression, use a measure of powder of 8.5g for a measure of water of 18mL.

– Mix the powder and water until a homogeneous pink color is obtained.

– Insert the tray with Avagel into its proper position in the mouth, compressing it slightly.

– Make muscle corrections and keep the tray still until 1 minute after the material starts to set.

– When the material has returned to its white color, remove and rinse with running water.

– To obtain best results, it is recommended to pour the plaster immediately after taking the impression. If this is not possible, keep the mold in a humidifier.
